"MAKE ME DO IT" - TORTURE is ILLEGAL - No one is above the LAW - Just another day in paradise...Rantings of a Mad Woman

FDR, in a now famous statement to activists of HIS day made the comment, ""I agree with you, I want to do it, now make me do it."

If we believe that Obama is basically a humane and progressive thinker, then we must challenge HIM to do what is right. In order to do so, we MUST flood him with our demands.
If we truly refuse to accept what has been done in our names, we must, therefore, scream it from the roof tops and quit bitchin' on the internet. WE MUST MAKE HIM DO IT.

I challenge EVERY single person who sees this message to heed the call. Write him, Call the White House and SCREAM FROM THE ROOF TOPS.

WE MUST hold BUSH and his cabal accountable for the torture they committed in our names.!

WE MUST hold them accountable for the war they started and ran into years, spending our treasury at $5000 a second for 6 long years - over 1 million dead , 7 million displaced and HUNDREDS TORTURED!

Torture is Torture - Complicity is Complicity - How does it feel to be a war criminal? Just Another Day In Paradise - The Rantings of a Mad Woman

FINALLY, the International Red Cross released the long awaited "secret" report, written on VALENTINE's DAY, 2007....Can't you just feel the love????
The release of the IRC report's,, follows on the heals of the National Geographic's documentary on Gitmo.....
The report is detailed, the documentary is VERY watered down but still not a pretty look at the base. Limited by the military's censorship, requiring every bit of film to be reviewed and approved as well as their hand picked interviewees allowed to say only what they wanted them to say. What they did not seem to realize is that the two commanders interviewed really told so much more than they intended. They came off as arrogant pricks ....
Sorry to say, for those promoting the concept of Gitmo as the paradise of Cuba, even the Navy couldn't hide that life in a 6.5 x 8 foot cell is not heaven. Life in a 6.5 x 8 foot cell with a pillow, maybe, a blanket, if you are a "good boy", a toilet and a cot (without being chained to the floor in stress positions for weeks on end) for SEVEN YEARS is NOT even remotely pleasant.
But the revisionists and the neo-con ass kissing freaks will continue to deny reality and continue to bow to their golden idol, the Dick Cheney, while lying to the gullible.
If one TRULY wants to learn about what is continuing in their name; What has been DONE in their name - read the report but don't stop there...Check out other reports and testimonies by former guards, lawyers, detainees...That is the only way to learn....
If one wants to continue to live in their fantasy bubble filled with the noxious gas expelled by the War Criminals (past and present) and their buddies in the press, the Congress and in the Pentagon, they will have to accept their part in the nightmare - their culpability; their mral corruption; their fully deserved guilt in allowing people to suffer in their name.
For further reading:

Cage Prisoners - an organization and website developed and maintained by former detainees held in Gitmo and other Black Sites (If one believes that only the US is involved...think again. Bush's poodle was in there too....More and more evidence is coming to light that MI5 asked one or two questions in the interrogations too...)

UC Davis Guantanamo Testimonials Project

Amnesty International USA
The 100++ Black Sites approved by the BUSH ADMINISTRATION and manned (though a REAL MAN would have NO PART of detaining innocents and torturing people...a REAL WOMAN wouldn't either) by the sniveling Renfields, slithering in and out of the limelight, promote and condone the blood thirst of the sadistic cabal who set these hells on earth in business - Gitmo MAY get closed but what about the Gitmo training center - Bagram?
Bagram was opened in 2002 at an abandoned Soviet Air Base, left over from their failed attempt at a war in Afghanistan. It has always BEEN in the shadows and that shadowy hell seems to be growing. At one time, there were anestimated 500-600 detainees there, but since Obama announced that Gitmo would close within a year, the prison has begun to grow.... and expanded. Reports that this camp will hold up to 1100 renditioned and "captured" detainees without any rights with the suspected continuation of those policies that Cheney and friends made so popular.
Quoting Karen Greenberg in "Obama’s Guantanamo? Bush’s Living Legacy at Bagram Prison, "
" But what else did I know? Thanks to New York Times reporters Carlotta Gall, David Rohde, Tim Golden, and Eric Schmitt, as well as to Alex Gibney’s documentary film Taxi to the Dark Side, I knew that two Afghans, Dilawar and Jullah Habibullah, had been beaten to death by U.S. Army interrogators at the prison in December 2002. I also knew that the use of such beatings, as well as various other forms of torture, had been normalized at Bagram at the very beginning of the Bush administration’s long march of pain that led to Guantanamo and then on to Abu Ghraib and other prisons in Iraq as well as foreign torture chambers.
From the 2004 Church Report (written by Naval Inspector General Admiral T. Church), I knew that military interrogators and guards at Bagram had been given next to no relevant training for the mission of detention and interrogation. I knew as well that a secret CIA prison was allegedly located apart from the regular detention cells at Bagram. I knew that military officials had declared that the interrogation techniques at Bagram seemed to work better than those being used at Guantanamo in the same period. And that, after the Supreme Court issued a decision in 2004 to allow prisoners at Guantanamo to challenge their detentions, the prison population at Bagram began to grow."
And yet we are not addressing Bagram; We are not addressing the Black Sites....It appears to be a continuation of the game started by Bush and Cheney - Smoke and Mirrors..."Hey, look over here..."
Focusing on Gitmo and giving the detainees a little more attention while allowing Bagram to grow and grow and denying the detainees there all possiblity of hope...
When asked outright about Bagram, Obama sounded eerily like those who came before....When it came to granting Bagram detainees habeas rights or the right to challenge their detention in U.S. courts, THE CURRENT administration simply stated that it ( the adminostration) “adheres to [the Justice Department's] previously articulated position”. In other words.... habeas would NOT be granted.
More of the same "Don't pay attention to that man behind the curtain" but in this case the man behind the curtain seems to be Obama
Obama Administration Continues Indefinite Detention Policy For Bagram Prisoners (2/23/2009)].
If that doesn't get your blood boiling about what has and continues to BE DONE in OUR name, I don't know what will.
And if your sick of it and want to DO something? JOIN AIUSA - WE are working to meet with members of Congress to push them for appointment of a special prosecutor or to do a thorough investigation into the torture and those who perpetratated it. GW Bush and Dick Cheney have both stated they approved the actions; Rumsfeld wrote the memo telling the military to use the Torture tactics; And the Pentagon and CIA carry (not carried but is STILL going on) it out.
Remember, Obama refused to address the issue of Bagram and the other Black Sites (to include 2 US Navy ships being used as Black Sites and detention...floating around in international waters). They are being left alone.
You may have voted for Obama, as I did, but we cannot allow this administration to sweep this under the rug and that IS what is happening. WE MUST hold Bush, Cheney and the rest of their cohorts, from Ashcroft to Gonzales to Mukasey, Patreaus to Gates, accountable.
If we do not bring these people to justice....WE are complicit and as guilty of the action as anyone since we ALLOWED it to go by without so much as a slap on the wrist.
For info on the US laws broken (another line of crap from those parroting the neo-con vomitus is that Bush did not break any laws)

Then read everything you can find...then tell me that these people do not need to be held to task...We "must move forward"...We "must get past it"...
What is the 13 year olds and 14 year olds that were held in Gitmo, raped and sodomized by others detainees as well as OUR OWN MILITARY was your little brother, your on, your cousin, your grandson? What is the 98 year old man was your grandfather - hell your GREAT GRANDFATHER?
Would THAT BE ENOUGH for YOU to demand accountability?
NOW we have to get Obama to open his heart and get in touch with HIS MORAL COMPASS and do JUST THAT....HOLD THESE PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE!!!
