American Exceptionalism at its most obscene: The slaughtering of the planet American style

What do Bikini, Enewetak, Kwajelein, Farallon de Medinilla, Vieques, Kahoʻolawe, Kaʻula, Diego Garcia, San Clemente islands all have in common?

They are the current list of islands destroyed by the US military (more specifically, the US Navy and their subsidiary, the US Marine Corps) - indigenous peoples removed in true imperialist fashion a la the Trail of Tears. (oh, sorry - "relocated") then paint a target on the rest and blow the bloody hell out of it - nukes, rockets, mines..They don't care - the bigger the better!

HOO-rah! Watch those feathers fly and trees burst into napalmed fizz (oh, yeah..Napalm is "illegal" so now we use jet fuel and white phosphorus instead of gasoline - don't you love the smell of napalm in the morning?)

The US Military announced last March they have their designs on 2 new, pristine tropical paradises north of Saipan.  Tinian Islands - already claimed by the military -  and Pagan Island - in the middle of the volcanic Northern Marianas chain and set for destruction post haste.

Read more about the island and the plans of the US military in an insightful article written by Michael Hadfield on "EarthFirst! - "U.S. Marines Plan to Destroy Another Island"

......and the petition to stop the slaughter has been started at change.org can be found "here"

More on Pagan Island at "Save Pagan Island" website and more on the people can be found on the on the Chamorro website .

The evil we do is equal to the hubris we justify by claiming to be "exceptional". We are not exceptional as proven by the evil we do.
