The latest chapter in the Perpetual War Plan - Obama initiates a new front in the War on a noun ("terror")

In 2002, the 107th Congress decided to vote with their dicks instead of their brains, choosing to slaughter, maim and deform millions of Iraqis, destroy their livelihoods and their nation; choosing to begin the 21st Century's perpetual war.
Illustration by John Ueland, published in Mother Jones

It didn’t matter that to 30% of the people in the nation – many of whom just simply paid attention to the  yammering of neo-cons for two decades before the vote; that remembered GW banging the drums for war on Iraq since 1998; that remembered the Project for a New American Century ’s screed published as a letter to Bill Clinton calling for action against Iraq; that lived through the Kissinger manipulations to go to war in the Middle East – knew any action of war on Iraq would be long, bloody and have nothing to do with anything other than greed and slaughter for oil and control…Just to prove we had big balls and more psychotic arrogance than intelligence.  It didn’t matter that, to anyone, with even the slightest background in history and a modicum of awareness, that it was all a scam….The Congress of “great and learned” men and women proved to be not-so-great and definitely not learned.  They voted for blood and greed.

It is on their heads.  It is the beginning of their crimes against humanity:

The criminals of war (committing crimes against both Americans and the rest of the planet):

The War ON Iraq was to “end in a few months” according to the Dick Cheney…Iraq would “welcome us as liberators” – And these fools swallowed it because they wanted to believe the US is exceptional.

After a decade of blood and gore – deaths of men, women and children, atrocity upon atrocity, rape, theft, degradation and torture (and that was only the beginning of the list of this nation’s crimes), the slaughter and fear-mongering continued.

And just like history should have taught us, our belligerence towards everyone not us, now specifically focused on the new “other,” “Terrorists” (now called “Islamofascists”, Muslim extremists or anyone who might take offense at our imperialism and our hubris).

A new president, that new “Change We Can Believe In” guy; that new “Transparency and Accountability” guy; that new “respect for rights of habeas corpus” guy; that new “close Guantanamo” guy; that new “ending the wars” guy, continued many of  the crimes of the previous president –from GTMO to Bagram, abuse, torture and denial of rights continued; murder of American citizens by proclamation; spying on Americans, activists, and allies was expanded; support for the military industrial complex perpetuated; and concern for the people of the planet never attempted.  No change; no transparency and accountability; no respect for rights of habeas corpus or even basic civil rights  especially for Muslims held in Guantanamo, Bagram, the salt minds or activists and definitely not for whistleblowers; no real attempt to close Guantanamo and basically setting his DOJ loose to quash any legal confrontation of its illegality, no ending the perpetual war – in fact, assuring its continuance with drones, JSOC hit men and arms deals.

And now the rise of the latest incarnation of blow back for the evil done in our name, ISIS – The Islamic State of Iraq in Syria…except it isn’t Syria.  It isn’t any particular center. It is as nebulous as the War on Terror – It is an idea born of the oppression and PTSD created by our never ending imperialism and hubris.

Obama is just the latest front man for that never-ending imperialism and hubris.  He has sounded the latest call for perpetuating the perpetual war and, as in 2002, the 113 Congress decided to follow in the slimy, self-absorbed, uneducated, shortsighted and hubris filled and definitely not-so-brilliant trail of their predecessors -  to vote with their dicks instead of their brains.

It will be on their heads and it will perpetuate their crimes against humanity.

These fools swallowed it, once again, because they want to believe the US is exceptional.

In 2002, The Military Industrial Complex (MIC) and the neo-cons of America with their lackeys in Congress set in motion that act of war that created the blow back called ISIS (Just like we created al Qaeda before them).

In 2014, one wonders what blow back will now be set in motion.  I am sure we will find out soon enough.

After years and years of perpetual war, the only thing that has ever been proven is that the US is not exceptional.

And that imperialist perpetual war has just gained a stronger foothold on the planet.
